Native Pollinator Habitat

Why plant native vegetation?

  • Native plants evolved over thousands of years, making them vital to our local wildlife and ecosystems.
  • Their deep root systems make native plants resilient to flooding & drought.
  • Native plantings slow & infiltrate stormwater, reduce erosion, filter pollutants, and improve water quality.
  • Native plants are essential to the needs and lifecycles of pollinators.
  • We can help you do it!

Creating or converting a garden bed to native is an effective way to support pollinators. Native plants are drought tolerant and well suited to our region, making gardening more sustainable.

Traditional lawns are comparable to a desert for our native insects. Converting turf lawns into these low growing blooms helps pollinators while requiring less watering and maintenance.

Annual Native Plant & Seed Mix Sale

Each March, our annual native plant and seed mix sale opens for online ordering. This sale provides the community access to locally sourced native plants and seed. Orders will be available for pickup at the Pollinator Powerhouse.

The Pollinator Powerhouse is a family-friendly pollinator celebration! Vendors, food, music, and activities. Native plants will also be available for sale on the day of the event.
